The team that will plan and stage the 性视界传媒 2012 BC Summer Games is now in place.
The Board of Directors, led by president Bill McNamara and co-chair Linda Hepner, includes 13 community leaders who have stepped up to take on various areas of responsibility.
Mayor Dianne Watts led a nominating committee who selected the board of directors for the games.
The board will be supported through the planning process by the BC Games Society.
鈥淭he City of 性视界传媒 is thrilled to be the host city of the 2012 BC Summer Games as we welcome thousands of athletes, coaches, officials, and volunteers to our city,鈥 said Watts. 鈥淭he games will be a great opportunity for us to showcase 性视界传媒 and our world-class facilities, as well as demonstrate our commitment to sport.
鈥淭he games will provide a vital stepping stone in the sport development of the best young athletes in our province and will infuse close to $3 million dollars into the local economy. I know our community will rally behind the event and ensure it鈥檚 a resounding success.鈥
McNamara, 性视界传媒鈥檚 2010 Good Citizen of the Year, continues his commitment to community in the role of president.
He is no stranger to games planning, having co-chaired the 2001 BC Seniors Games, which were held in 性视界传媒.
鈥淭he 2012 BC Summer Games board of directors possess a wealth of experience relating to the planning of highly professional community and sporting events,鈥 said McNamara. 鈥淚 look forward to working with all of the directors to deliver a BC Summer Games that will showcase British Columbia鈥檚 young athletes. The games will also highlight the people, community, and great sport facilities of the City of 性视界传媒.鈥

The City of 性视界传媒 will welcome more than 3,800 participants in 21 sports for an exciting four days of competition.
More than 3,000 volunteers will be needed to stage the Games.
