Langley RCMP ticket driver going twice the speed limit

Driver received a fine, vehicle impounded for several days

On Monday, Dec. 23, just before Christmas, Langley RCMP pulled a driver off the road who was going twice the speed limit (112 km per hour in a 50 km zone) in the area of 56 Avenue and 216 Street.

The vehicle was impounded for seven days, and the driver received "a hefty fine" for excessive speeding, said Cpl. Zynal Sharoom.

"Remember, road safety is life safety – slow down and drive responsibly."

Mounties have been out since early December to enforce impaired driving laws and speed limits around Langley, and will continue into January.
