The Chilliwack RCMP is asking for the public's help following a break-an-enter at a residence over Christmas where a large number of firearms and foreign currency were stolen.

Police responded to a call of a break-in at a residence in the 4000 block of Lyardon Road. The theft is suspected to have occurred between Dec. 25 and 27, police said.

In a Chilliwack RCMP news release Saturday (Dec. 28), police said the home had been"ransacked, and several items" were taken, including firearms and a "significant amount of Vietnamese Dong (VDN.)"

"Investigators are concerned that up to 25 firearms were stolen—that were primarily long guns," noted the release. "Investigative efforts are continuing to identify the make and model of the firearms."

Police ask anyone with information to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 and quote file 24-55860.
