Portion of 176th Street closed after vehicle crashes into BC Hydro pole

CLOVERDALE 鈥 A vehicle crashing into a BC Hydro pole closed two blocks along 176th Street Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred at 62nd Avenue and 176th Street, police say.

鈥淭he pole is leaning,鈥 said 性视界传媒 RCMP Corporal Scotty Schumann. 鈥淚t鈥檚 quite risky to other motorists,鈥

Schumann said only one vehicle was involved and 鈥渁ppears to have hit a cement barrier and rolled into the pole.鈥

The road was closed between 62nd and 64th Avenues and police weren鈥檛 initially sure how long 176th Street would remain closed.

鈥淚t鈥檚 dependent on Hydro and when they can get here,鈥 said Schumann Wednesday morning. 鈥淚 imagine they鈥檙e quite busy,鈥 he said, referring to power outages from the overnight windstorm.
