Early unofficial results state B.C. Conservative Tara Armstrong has won the Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream riding with more than 54.20 per cent of the vote.

After winning the riding Armstrong said she feels honoured and will do everything she can to represent her constituents.

While the race was tight knit Armstrong did come out on top with 13,618 votes compared to the NDP鈥檚 Anna Warwick Sears with 8,794.

鈥淭his just goes to show how important it is to just get out there and get your vote out. Make sure you are doing evyerthing your can for your riding and your people,鈥 she said.

As for her next steps she said she will focus on what she heard most from residents during the campaign which were concerns over affordability, housing and healthcare.

鈥淚 will be working with my team to make sure we are doing everything we can to help people with those three issues and many others,鈥 explained Armstrong.

She ended by congratulating her running mates for their hard work during the election campaign.

This year, there were four candidates on the ballot in the Kelowna-Lake Country-Coldstream riding. Armstrong, Independent Kevin Kraft, BC NDP's Anna Warwick Sears, and Andrew Rose of the BC Green Party.

Formerly known as the Kelowna-Lake Country riding, Coldstream was added to the riding in early April 2023. Included in Coldstream is Lavington, Kalamalka Lake and Kal Lake Provincial Park.

Norm Letnick of the disbanded Liberal/BC United party has held the riding since 2009 and elected to not run this time around. The B.C. Liberals has held the riding since it changed to the Kelowna-Lake County in 1996.

More to come.
