The research examined the attractiveness of 1,079 NHL players by using the Attractiveness Test鈥檚 AI tool, says a news release from Journo Research, the digital PR agency for tonybet.com.
Minnesota Wild winger Ryan Hartman takes the crown as the biggest heartthrob in the NHL, followed by Cole Guttman (Chicago Blackhawks) and Samuel Laberge (New Jersey Devils).
In fourth is Wotherspoon, who grew up playing hockey in Cloverdale and now wears a Boston Bruins jersey.
"The defenceman has a final attractiveness score of 9.82 out of 10, 31.2% higher than the average across the sport," Journo Research says.
Fifth place goes to Abbotsford-raised player Devon Toews, with Colorado Avalanche.
Heading into another hockey season, Wotherspoon has played 53 games in the NHL with the Bruins and New York Islanders, the team that drafted him 112th overall in 2015. His older brother , 31, has also played some games in the NHL with Calgary Flames.
