Shelters in White Rock and South ÐÔÊӽ紫ý are in need of donations for people who are unhoused.

The daytime warming centre, open daily at Centennial Arena for anyone needing a warm space, is located at 14600 North Bluff Rd. at Centennial Arena in White Rock between the hours of 7 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Also operating in the community is the extreme weather shelter at South ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Recreation and Arts Centre 14601 — 20 Ave. South ÐÔÊӽ紫ý, only open during extreme weather alerts.

Donations gratefully accepted include cold weather jackets and coats that are weather resistant, sweatpants, jeans, and rain pants. Other clothing items include hoodies, sweatshirts, sweaters, and T-shirts, boots and shoes.

Also needed are warm socks specifically made of wool, new underwear for both men and women, gloves that are weather-resistant, hats and scarves.

Donations can be dropped off at Peace Portal Alliance Church located at 152 St. and King George Blvd. between Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
