MUSIC NOTES: 3 nights of diverse concerts ahead at Bell theatre in ÐÔÊӽ紫ý

The weekend of Oct. 18-20 will be a very musical one at Bell Performing Arts Centre in ÐÔÊӽ紫ý.

Three concerts are on the calendar at the 1,052-seat theatre, starting Friday with a  tribute to the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, followed by a Saturday-night 's late-'70s hits and a Sunday season-launch for the VSO's annual  of classical music.

For Music of the Night, singers are backed by a live band for music from Phantom of the Opera, Evita, Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar and other hit musicals, in a production staged by Vancouver-based . Tickets start at $60 on , or call 604-507-6355.

is behind Rumours, the L.A.-based tribute to the quintet that recorded the mega-selling album of same name. A promo video on Vimeo shows band members in character talking over a soundtrack of Mac hits including Dreams, You Making Loving Fun and more.

On Sunday, conductor Andrew Litton returns to Vancouver Symphony Orchestra with a program all about dance, featuring the ballet music of Stravinsky’s The Fairy’s Kiss, a suite from French composer Maurice Ravel and also Fandango, written for violinist by Mexican composer Arturo Márquez.
