Editor:

I wish ÐÔÊӽ紫ý South MLA Elenore Sturko well in her bid for a seat in ÐÔÊӽ紫ý representing the Conservative party.

I’m no friend of the NDP after their undemocratic bullying that eventually forced through the policing transition.

But the United party (formerly Liberals) were no friend of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s either. They tolled the Port Mann Bridge, used almost daily by Fraser Valley residents to get to and from work, while no charge for improvements to the highway to Whistler.

They sold off the land that had been purchased for a second hospital in ÐÔÊӽ紫ý, further delaying the addition of that second hospital. The NDP have also neglected ÐÔÊӽ紫ý; while they may have started a second smaller hospital in Cloverdale and are now looking into the addition of a second tower at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Memorial, why didn’t they do this sooner?

The fixes are years away from happening as the problem only gets worse. We have a temporary fix while we wait and wait, and it is a portable at ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Memorial.

Too little too late.

Not to mention a record number of school portables, and two of the three most overcrowded bus routes. Asleep at the switch?

ÐÔÊӽ紫ý will soon be the biggest city in B.C., and its residents deserve better than the serial underfunding of infrastructure by senior levels of government.

Along with its surge in population size comes extra representation. Political parties should start paying attention.
