Speed enforcement will be needed around the new Xw’epiteng Elementary School, this writer says.

Editor,

The Halls Prairie Elementary School at 18035 8 Ave. has been repurposed by ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Schools and will reopen as Xw’epiteng Elementary (Outdoor Land-Based Learning Program K-7) in September this year.

This is a perfect use for an asset which has been vacant but maintained for the past four years.

Equally as important is that the maximum 30 km/h school zone speed limit signs will soon be reinstalled. Hopefully this action will reduce the pure insanity which has prevailed for the last four years where vehicles have been clocked at 80 to 100 km/h.

Now all we need is police speed limit enforcement, which has been almost nonexistent for the past four years.
