Editor,

Re:

This expression of support for the Peace Arch golf course proposal is exactly the rabbit hole Messrs. Bishop and Haley want us, the residents of South ÐÔÊӽ紫ý/White Rock, to chase down. They want us to believe that under a veiled altruistic gesture on their part, gifting a portion of the land for park use makes their greed to make millions developing the remaining part into residential building lots all OK.

Well, it just plain and simply is not! The notion that the applicants were somehow impeded by the timing of the pandemic and not able to adequately able to test the financial strength of their investment is, quite frankly, an embarrassment and pure fiction.

If this proposal is approved in any fashion the vehicular congestion on 8 Avenue at the Highway 99 and 8 Avenue interchange would be exacerbated beyond the pressure that already exists.

As it stands now we have insufficient infrastructure (schools, fire/police protection, ambulance services), and increasing the housing density will only make it worse.

No part of this proposal makes any sense for the citizens of South ÐÔÊӽ紫ý/White Rock to allow it to proceed.
