It is a proverb that warns against trusting persons who offer gifts or favours, as they may be hiding a harmful or destructive agenda. The phrase is a reminder to consider one鈥檚 true motives before accepting their generosity.

The 鈥済ift鈥� of parkland in exchange for the ALR exclusion is the modern-day Trojan horse offered to the community to disguise the real motivation behind the ALR exclusion request. The profit potential for ownership is in the tens of millions of dollars, if not more. The 鈥済ift鈥� of the parkland is a misdirection technique and nothing more.

The current owners promised that there would not be any development on the site when they bought the property. Yet here they are seeking a massive development.
