Two local weaving teams will face off in a competition to card wool, spin it into yarn and weave it into beautiful shawls, all within four hours. Several sheep will be onsite (outdoors), and event-goers can try their hand on the museum’s spinning wheels. 3. One of Canada’s largest rehab facilities for birds of prey will open its doors this weekend (May 6-7) at Delta’s O.W.L. facility, or , a temporary home to eagles, hawks, owls and more. For 2017, the organization’s popular open house in Delta will feature demos, a raptor release at 1 p.m. daily, kid-friendly games, three food trucks (Triple O’s, Gypsy Trunk and Loving Hut Express) and a shuttle from the Boundary Bay Helicopter site, at the airport.
