We鈥檝e signed WR Chase Claypool, DE Dawuane Smoot and LB Deion Jones to one-year contracts:
Claypool had a tumultuous last season, as he was dealt from the Chicago Bears to the Miami Dolphins in October. He was unable to see much playing time in Miami due to injuries and the Dolphins depth at the wide receiver position.
He finished with 26 yards receiving in nine games for Miami. He also collected 51 yards receiving and one touchdown in three games with the Bears.
Claypool had an excellent rookie season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, including his four-touchdown performance against the Philadelphia Eagles on Oct. 11, 2020. He is the only Canadian-born player and only Steelers rookie to achieve that feat.
He joins a Bills team that has made the playoffs for six consecutive seasons, but has only advanced to the conference final once in 2020. Buffalo has lost in the divisional final round for the past three seasons. They finished 2023 with a record of 11-6.
The Bills are led by superstar quarterback Josh Allen and recently drafted wide receiver Keon Coleman with the 33rd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Coleman is expected to be a big part of the team鈥檚 offence. Buffalo鈥檚 other top receivers include Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel.
The NFL schedule will be released later this month, but the Bills will be travelling to Seattle to play the Seahawks at some point in 2024. That will be Claypool鈥檚 first visit to Seattle in his career.
