• Roses to the Colwood mayor for recruiting doctors and putting them on the city payroll. Roses to our ÐÔÊӽ紫ý mayor and council if they can do the same.

• Roses to the baristas at my friendly neighbourhood Starbucks. You guys and girls do a fantastic job. Thank you for keeping the coffee as good as ever and our breakfast sandwiches toasty warm as always. Happy holidays and seasons greetings from all of us to all of you.

• Roses to the staff of the social tavern in Fleetwood. After giving this new establishment, a chance, I’m happy to say that this is a fine, cosy, warm eatery. I’ll always be grateful for your traditional breakfast, coffee, and the occasional lager. Season’s Greetings!

Roses to all the people out there whom I misunderstood, whether it’s friends, classmates, acquaintances, colleagues, family members, and even common folk on the street.  I will be more mindful and put myself in your place as you did for me. I will put myself other people’s shoes and see what it would be like to take a walk in someone else’s boots. Empathy and compassion are the best.

• Roses to Terry and Graham at Accent Guitar studio down in Fleetwood. I’ll never forget this little rancher as a place where I took guitar lessons many moons ago. Thank you for keeping the music alive at Accent Guitar, and all the very best to your students from the past, present and future. May you continue on teaching younger generations.

• Roses to the Uber driver in line at a coffee shop waiting to pick up an order. Sorry for being impatient to you. I misunderstood you, but I will promise to be more kinder.

• Roses to Mark Smeets. He is a voice in the community, a strong advocate for autism awareness, and breaking the stigma of ADHD. Kudos.  Quite a talented Lego builder too.

• Roses to an amazing person at work. I hope this holiday season finds you well and that one day we can perhaps connect over a coffee sometime.  I would love to get to know you better whenever we cross paths, if the fate allows. Hope life treats you with kindness and love during this holiday season.

• Sending lots of candy canes and red roses to some of our neighbours on our cul-de-sac. Giving Christmas gifts to us and fellow neighbours on our street. So proud to be living on our cul-de-sac.

• Sending a huge pile of rotten and rancid tomatoes to a neighbour on our street continuing to finish building an illegal addition to the back of their house, violating stop work orders posted on their garage door, thinking that they could get away with it today, because of the holidays.

• Rotten tomatoes to the City of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý: If you had an anonymous tip line, you would have a lot of tips on buildings, add-ons, and suites, trees removed. You're missing out on a lot of taxes. Who wants to report when the person might work for the City?

• Rotten tomatoes to politicians who think they deserve more. You have forgotten who voted you in. We can also vote you out.

• Rotten tomatoes to airlines who are always charging more. Now charging for carry-on bag. Well, forget it, no more flights — we have a big province with lots to see, we will be travelling across B.C. Support our province.
