Editor,
The City of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý has very strict tree bylaws for residents whom want to remove a tree from their property.
Once an application has been approved (have fun with that), the next step involves onerous and expensive procedures which makes it close to impossible to actually go ahead. In the end, my wife and I threw our hands up and decided it was not worth the cost and crazy requirements required to remove a dying ornamental plum tree from our front yard.
Meanwhile, development after development clear-cuts perfectly healthy, mature trees with abandon. The draconian rules forced upon homeowners and their private property seem silly when compared to how the developers are given the green light to chop, chop chop. If you're a developer in ÐÔÊӽ紫ý, it's "Gentlemen, start your chainsaws!"
