A young girl in Delta was asked by a suspicious woman Tuesday if she wanted a ride home.
The 10-year-old girl was on heading down Lyon Road near 115 Avenue, as she made her way home for lunch at about 12:20 p.m.
She said "no" to the woman, who she didn't recognize, and ran home.
The woman sped off, westbound on Lyon Road when the girl refused the offer.
The driver is described as an Indo-Canadian woman, between 20 and 30 years old, with dark hair pulled back into a pony tail. She had large lips and spoke without an accent.
Her vehicle is described as a long car, metallic blue, and was clean with no distinguishing marks.
When she returned to school, the girl told her teacher what happened and school staff called police.
The Delta Police encourage young people and their parents to report such suspicious
circumstances as soon as possible to increase the potential for police to canvass the area
and locate the vehicle and person.
If anyone has information regarding the suspicious woman, call the Delta Police at 604-946-4411.
