Delta police looking for witnesses to serious collision

Police are looking for witnesses and footage of a serious crash in the Sunbury area of Delta Monday morning. According to a DPD press release, a white Volkswagen Jetta collided with a semi-truck in the 8800-block of River Road at about 8 a.m.

Police are looking for witnesses and footage of a serious crash in the Sunbury area of Delta Monday morning.

According to a DPD press release, a white Volkswagen Jetta collided with a semi-truck in the 8800-block of River Road, between Alexander Road and 92nd Street, at about 8 a.m. on July 29.

The crash occurred as the semi was entering the roadway, resulting in the Jetta becoming wedged under the trailer. The driver of the Jetta sustained critical injuries and is currently receiving care in the hospital.

Investigators are asking for anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw the vehicles involved prior to the crash to contact the Delta Police Department at 604-946-4411 and quote file number 2024-13943.

Police are also looking for dash camera footage, Tesla video or photographs of the collision or pre-collision driving of both vehicles.
