A multi-vehicle crash on Golden Ears Bridge has brought traffic to a standstill in Maple Ridge on Wednesday morning.

According to BC Emergency Health Services, multiple vehicles were involved in a collision on the bridge just before 6:45 a.m. Emergency crews responded and most of the bridge was shut down for a while, but there was no serious injuries and none of the individuals involved were transported to hospital.

As a result of the lane closures, major delays continue to happen along Lougheed Highway and other parts of Maple Ridge and Mission, with southbound traffic particularly bad.

UPDATE: The tow truck just arrived to the crash scene. It's still single-lane traffic southbound with one lane also blocked northbound. Volume out of for every possible feeder-route is absolutely GRIDLOCKED. Expect major delays.^ih

Traffic has now fully opened up on the bridge, but commuters should still expect delays to occur for a while.

Another pair of collisions on the Mission Bridge also caused issues around the same time this morning, making most of east Maple Ridge a traffic nightmare, although congestion in the area has now begun to clear.
