MUSIC NOTES: Tribute concerts coming to ÐÔÊӽ紫ý's big Bell theatre

Eagles tribute show Take It To The Limit returns to ÐÔÊӽ紫ý's Bell Performing Arts Centre on Nov. 6, 2024.

Diverse sounds of The Eagles, Scorpions, Def Leppard, ABBA, Buddy Holly, Everly Brothers, Fleetwood Mac and more are on the concert calendar of Bell Performing Arts Centre in coming weeks and months.

The ÐÔÊӽ紫ý theatre is where performs "Hotel California" and other hit '70s songs Wednesday, Nov. 6, followed by a a few nights later, on Saturday, Nov. 9.

Eagles tribute show  was created for touring by ÐÔÊӽ紫ý-based Moon Coin Productions, founded by husband-wife team Jonas Falle and Jeanette O’Keeffe, also responsible for ABBA tribute , booked for a .

With Tom McKillip as music director, Take It To The Limit has been a hit for Moon Coin since the launch of the multimedia Eagles show at the Bell in April 2023. That night, the band did not disappoint with a note-for-note tribute to the American rock icons at the 1,100-seat theatre.

Meantime, the Blackout/Hysteria tribute to The Scorpions and Def Leppard will feature veteran rock musicians Ziggy, Carl Jackson, Rick Allen Chappell, Randy Brown and Von Anthony. Tickets sell for $45 on , with $3 from each going to ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Food Bank.

"The reason why we picked the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Food Bank is because the high cost of food," said concert presenter Carol Chycoski, Exposure Entertainment. "A lot of single families just cannot afford to eat properly."

On Dec. 2, the will feature Buddy Holly songs performed by Zachary Stevenson and band, along with girl-group hits of the '50s and '60s.

Next year, the concert-based musical  plays the Bell on March 6, followed in October 2025 by the Diane Warren-led , a Vancouver-area band that also features Mike Luniw (guitars, vocals), Zoey Leven (keys, vocals), Curtis Michael Leippi (drums), Dave Kalancha (bass) and Steve Bush (keys).
