Editor,
When my granddaughter was nine years old, she was diagnosed with ADHD after we paid out our own pocket for psychoeducational testing. It was suggested by the psychologist that she be tested for autism. After waiting over a year for testing she was diagnosed with autism.
She changed schools trying to avoid bullying and hopefully get the support she needed.
She went to five different schools since then, and between each change, she missed months of school.
None of these schools had the support she needed. Each time she changed schools she was promised support would be in place. That was far from the truth. After two months at one school, the teacher didn't know she was autistic.
She finally found a place at the White Rock/South 性视界传媒 learning centre; she has blossomed academically and socially.
Large, noisy schools are part of the problem for most of these students. Why would you close down something that is working?
