A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in Maple Ridge on Thursday morning, June 20, at approximately 8:10 a.m.
According to witnesses, the female victim appeared to have suffered a head injury, and was taken to hospital by ambulance. According to Ridge Meadows RCMP, they are in stable condition.
There is a black Ford pickup at the scene, and a shoe can be seen underneath the vehicle.
The Lower Mainland Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) is on scene at the junction of Dewdney Trunk Road and Laity Street, and report there is no anticipated time for the intersection to reopen.
Police are asking the public to avoid the area, Dewdney Trunk Road is closed at 216th Street, and traffic is being detoured.
