Next month, the Delta Photo Club is hosting award-winning photographer Shane Gross for a special "Introduction to Underwater Photography" online presentation.
The session, to be held over Zoom from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, is designed for photographers at all skill levels and will present a glimpse into the world of underwater photography, according to an event press release.
An accompanying bio describes Gross as a Nanaimo-based Canadian underwater and conservation photojournalist known for his work in marine life photography and for promoting ocean conservation.
"His images highlight the beauty of underwater ecosystems while raising awareness about the threats they face," the release states.
An Associate Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers and a co-founder of the Canadian Conservation Photographers Collective, Gross was the Grand Title Winner of the 2024 Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition.
His first book, Bahamas Underwater, was published in 2021, with proceeds from its sale going to support ocean education programs in The Bahamas.
