Great to hear sounding great during an acoustic set that served to launch .
On May 1, the harmony-singing Finn-Morris sisters (guitarist Brianne and lead singer Alanna) performed 鈥淕old Fish鈥 and a few other songs at Semiahmoo Fish & Game Club, where the festival is planned as a fundraiser this summer, on Saturday, Aug. 24. Others on the afternoon/evening bill are reggae-rocker Daniel Wesley, prog-rock band Brass Camel, Antonio Larosa and Camaro 67.
In August, a stage for the all-original music festival will be set up on the archery range with VIP tents, 鈥淔east of Fire鈥 food by Sheila鈥檚 Catering and more, with a beverage garden inside the nearby hall.

This is the second year for the Salmon Sessions concert. Penmar Community Arts Society has partnered with the host club to raise money to rebuild its hatchery building, which was devastated by flooding two years ago.
The Fionn siblings once sang as Alanna & Brianne on local stages, but that handle was eventually spiked in favour of Fionn, an Irish spin on their Finn surname. The White Rock twins went to school at Holy Cross Regional High School in Fleetwood before pursuing music fulltime, and now work with in Vancouver.
鈥楥ONCERT WEEK鈥 PROMO
It鈥檚 no secret that concert tickets aren鈥檛 cheap these days, especially for big-name artists in arenas. Some relief comes in the form of Concert Week (May 8-14), when music fans can buy $25 tickets to select concerts during a 10th-year promo by Live Nation Entertainment.
This year, the ticket offer involves more than 900 artists in North America including Arkells, Barenaked Ladies, Billy Idol, Cage the Elephant, City and Colour, Kings of Leon, Mother Mother and more. On the website , look for the ticket type 鈥淐oncert Week Promotion鈥 and use filters for artists and venues.
JAM MAN TOURS
Because I鈥檓 a huge fan of British band The Jam, I鈥檓 quite stoked about 鈥檚 2024 concert tour and Sept. 20 show at Vancouver鈥檚 Vogue Theatre. The 鈥淢od Father鈥 will tour North America for the first time since 2017, with a new album, called 66, due out May 24 鈥 his 17th solo effort, and 28th album overall, in a career that includes stints leading The Jam and The Style Council. The new one features contributions from Noel Gallagher, Primal Scream鈥檚 Bobby Gillespie, Madness鈥 Suggs McPherson and others. First single on 66 is 鈥淪oul Wandering,鈥 co-written with Gillespie.
HORSE AT DEER LAKE
Burnaby鈥檚 Deer Lake Park is one of those wonderful, natural-bowl concert venues. Seriously, it鈥檚 one of the best places to see live music in Metro Vancouver, especially in summer, with a lake view beyond the stage.
So, July 22 and 23 are shaping up to be special nights with the arrival of Neil Young & Crazy Horse, for two concerts of guitar-driven rock. Produced by Live Nation, their 鈥淟ove on Earth鈥 tour will feature songs from a 50-year career that includes a new FU##IN鈥 UP album.
Interestingly, Young wants to give fans the best chance to buy tickets at face value. Fans who purchase tickets for the tour through Ticketmaster, and can鈥檛 attend, then have the option to resell their ticket to other fans at the original price paid using . Young has also chosen to make tickets for this tour mobile-only and restricted from transfer. A valid bank account or debit card is required to sell tickets on the exchange.
