It鈥檚 a chance to hear some top-flight B.C. rock, country and funk artists 鈥� and support conservation and food security at the same time.
Tickets go on sale Friday, May 3, for the second annual Salmon Sessions Music Festival, taking place Saturday, Aug. 24, 2024, from 4 to 11 p.m., at the Semiahmoo Fish and Game Club (1284 184 St.).
Joining the just-announced lineup for this year are West Coast music staple Daniel Wesley (formerly a White Rock resident), popular Peninsula-raised Celtic folk-pop crossover duo Fionn (sisters Brianne and Allanah Finn-Morris), and Vancouver rock group Brass Camel, five young but seasoned musicians adept in prog-rock, blues-rock, funk and fusion.
Also on the diverse program is country-rock vocalist/guitarist Antonio Larosa, noted for revisiting the roots of Canadian classic rock with nods to such legends as Johnny Cash, Sturgill Simpson and the Eagles; and Vancouver-based Camaro 鈥�67 鈥� a 鈥榟igh-energy鈥� 10-piece band that brings together classic Afrobeat influences with contemporary Afrofunk/Groove sounds.

In addition to the music, attendees will enjoy a choice of treats from a wide variety of food trucks, and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, amid the serene Little Campbell River surroundings, all the while contributing to essential conservation efforts led by the SFGC. Guided tours of the hatchery will also be available through the event.

Co-produced with Penmar Community Arts Society, the Salmon Sessions Music Festival is intended as both a celebration of local music and a call for public support for the SFGC鈥檚 Little Campbell Salmon Hatchery 鈥� an integral component of B.C.鈥檚 food security infrastructure.
Now in its 66th year, the volunteer-run, not-for-profit society is facing the urgent need to build a new hatchery, as the current one is nearing the end of its life cycle.
