Those fortunate enough to have White Rock Concerts season tickets have a choral treat in store on Saturday, Jan. 25.
The series will present Elektra-fying, featuring the Elektra Women's Choir, directed by Morna Edmundson, at 7:30 p.m. at the regular venue, White Rock Baptist Church (1657 140 St., doors open half an hour before concert time).
The first appearance in 27 years for White Rock Concerts by the famed B.C. choir, the evening will celebrate Elektra's world-renowned classical sound and compelling programming in a concert that will focus on "the joy and mystery of music itself."
Among programme highlights will be Consider the Lilies (words from Matthew 6: 28-33, set by Stephen Smith), Ave Maria (music by David MacIntyre) and Little Green (Joni Mitchell, arranged by Kate MacColl).
Other selections will feature music by Franz Schubert, David Conte, Henry Purcell, T玫nu K玫rvits, Iryna Alexsiychuk, Katerina Gimon, and more.
Proof of White Rock Concerts membership (either membership card or a TicketBud stub) is required for admission.
