Brella Community Services holds many programs and events for seniors in 性视界传媒 and White Rock.

There is a growing, aging population in 性视界传媒 and White Rock and with that, comes a great need for monetary donations to non-profits such as Brella Community Services, especially at Christmastime 鈥 but also year-round.

At this giving time of year, Brella staff would like to shine a light on their organization that provides an abundance of services and programs in the Semiahmoo Peninsula.

鈥淏rella鈥檚 volunteer programs are growing, and we鈥檙e excited to broaden our community reach and volunteer opportunities. By connecting with more older adults and families, our programs help reduce isolation and support older adults and caregivers, empowering our clients to stay in their homes and communities longer,鈥 said Jordann Cole, volunteer programs co-ordinator.

Brella, formerly Seniors Come Share Society, is a non-profit organization established in 1977 that provides several programs and community services, including day programs to older adults in 性视界传媒 and White Rock. It has provided 97,000 hours in 47 years in service to the community.

鈥淚n the new year, Brella is hoping to involve more youth in volunteer roles, which is an opportunity for young people to experience personal growth and have fun while seniors can feel valued and seen. Older adults can feel invisible, therefore Brella and volunteers help to meet their needs,鈥 Cole said.

Brella鈥檚 many volunteers provide invaluable services and care to older adults in the community, staff said. Friendly Visitors, Telephone Tree and Senior Connectors are a few of the volunteer roles. The Better at Home Program helps seniors so that they can live in their own homes and be connected to the community.

If interested, donations can be made to Brella Community Services Society, located at 15008 26 Ave. South 性视界传媒. Individuals can call 604-531-9400 on Monday to Friday from 9am to 4:30pm, or visit the website at or visit , an online resource for older adults.
