VIDEO: 7,000 people gather for Canada Day drone show in Chilliwack

Colourfully lit drones created images of Chilliwack landmarks, pieces of history

An estimated 7,000 people filled Exhibition field and the grandstands at The Landing to watch Chilliwack's first-ever drone show on Canada Day.

Lights surrounding the field, along with street lights in the neighbourhood, were shut off and the area was in total darkness as approximately 180 drones moved through the night sky on Monday, July 1.

Images created by the drones included several iconic landmarks and pieces of Chilliwack's history including the clock tower at Five Corners, a cob of corn, an Indigenous drum, and a paddlewheeler.

The show was put on by Pixel Sky Animations with support from Grizzly Drones.
