ÐÔÊӽ紫ý’s Crescent Beach has tons of opportunities for recreation, ranging from swimming and sailing to beach combing and bird watching.
Among the many things it’s famous for, the beach features the Crescent Rock, a 120-tonne boulder on a rugged shoreline. Nudists and naturalists sometimes use this area.
Crescent Beach also features Blackie Spit Park, which is an annual migration rest stop for birds travelling on the Pacific Flyway. Of the 300 species of birds that stop here, thousands are ducks and geese, foraging on the rich land and waters. In fact, eelgrass meadows, mudflats and tidal marshes make for year-round bird habitat.
