can鈥檛 recommend it highly enough for any competitive dancers.

She has been dancing since she was six, but the Chilliwack woman 鈥 now 22 鈥 joined the Bombshells four years ago, when the team moved to Langley.

鈥淚 have been competitive dancing for my entire life, so this seemed like a great next step to further my dancing career,鈥 she shared with the Langley Advance.

She鈥檚 hoping to make this her fifth season, saying: 鈥淏eing a Bombshell is so much more than a group of girls going out on the field and dancing.

鈥淭o be able to go out in front of a crowd with girls who have the same passion and love for performance that you do, all while cheering on a professional lacrosse team, is a truly amazing experience,鈥 McClelland added.

Describing it as a highly technical team, 鈥渁s far as dance goes,鈥 she recommends potential candidates have 鈥済enerally鈥 three years or more of dance training.

鈥淲e also get out into the community quite a bit, so being able to interact confidently in the community always helps,鈥 she said, noting dancers come from all over Greater Vancouver 鈥 all the way from Chilliwack to North Vancouver 鈥 to be part of the team.

The Bombshells rehearses once a week, plus performs at all 18 Stealth home and away games.

While McClelland initially joined the Bombshells just for the dance component, she admitted she鈥檚 since become a true lacrosse fan, as well.

鈥淎t the beginning lacrosse hadn鈥檛 been a big part of my life, but very soon into the 1st season I found a love for lacrosse and now it鈥檚 a big part of why I keep coming back,鈥 she explained.

鈥淢y top three selling features鈥 It鈥檚 an opportunity to further your dance career; you get to be a part of a great organizing like the Vancouver Stealth; and the girls on the team always have a great time together and it has brought me to have lifelong friendships.鈥

NLL schedule unveiled

In the meantime, the lacrosse team unveiled its schedule that includes three games in December and the rest in 2018.

They start with a home opener against the Colorado Mammoths in early December, the first of nine games at home. They鈥檒l also play nine games on the road, including playing Calgary, Colorado, and Saskatchewan four times.

They will play against defending National Lacrosse League (NLL) champions Georgia and New England, twice each.

Toronto and Buffalo will visit Vancouver for their only match ups this season, while there will be no games played against Rochester in the regular season, said president and general manager Doug Locker.

鈥淎ll of us are extremely excited for the upcoming season as we are looking to build off the momentum from last season,鈥 he said. 鈥淲e have had a great offseason and are ready to get back to work.鈥

With the expanded schedule, the Stealth will have a bye in weeks 3, 7, 14 and 18, while having only one back-to-back weekend on Jan. 26 in Vancouver and Jan. 27 in Georgia.

鈥淲e take great pride in developing the best possible schedule for both our fans and teams, and are thrilled to finally release the official 2017鈥2018 NLL schedule,鈥 said NLL commissioner Nick Sakiewicz.

鈥淐oming off of the San Diego announcement, I could not be any more excited to get this season underway,鈥 Sakiewicz added.

鈥淲ith three opening night matchups of Georgia vs New England, Toronto vs Buffalo, and Colorado vs Vancouver on Dec. 8, our fans will experience no shortage in action. Having a full year of NLL TV under our belts, we are especially excited to build on that experience with even more content and coverage this season.鈥

The Stealth will announce its 2018 NLL training camp in the upcoming days.

In the meantime, early bird season ticket memberships are available until Sept. 22, and can be purchased or by calling 604-882-8800.
