• Roses to BC Hydro for restoring our power outage on Saturday, Dec. 14. Roses to the City of ÐÔÊӽ紫ý crews for all the added support and cleanup from the storm.
• Roses to ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Now-Leader newspaper. Thank you to all the staff for publishing an excellent paper. I wish there were more boxes with your newspaper at libraries and grocery stores.
• On Tuesday, 10 December, I somehow left my cellphone in the ladies’ loo at Walmart in the Guildford Mall. I was not aware of this till much later, when my neighbour tried to contact me and her call was answered by the store’s customer service staff. Today, our cellphones contain large amounts of personal information, contact details and appointment information which would be of interest to some whose intentions are not good. So, I was understandably worried, and dashed to the store to retrieve it. I learned there that a kind lady customer had found the phone and handed it in, but the customer service staff apparently did not have her details. So I believe the only way I can express my appreciation is through your column. My thanks — and a huge truckload of roses, are due to this kind customer. In these days of our society’s apparent diminishing civic responsibility, her saving of my cellphone provides some assurance that there are still lovely people out there. Thank you, dear lady! – Barbara
• An amazing bunch of roses to the paramedics and fire department that came at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday to assist myself and my husband. They used much care and dignity when transporting my husband into the ambulance. We have such an amazing group of health professionals and fire personal in ÐÔÊӽ紫ý. Thank you so much.
• A hospital full of stinky tomatoes to the clerks of the medical imaging department at Jim Pattison Outpatient Centre who don’t bother answering their phone. I’ve been trying to reach you for almost a month! No wonder our health-care system is in crisis. The same goes to whoever is in charge there — it looks to me like you don’t even care about your patients. Shame on you all!
• Rotten tomatoes to a loud vindictive minority group of people that caused nothing but a lot toxic trouble in ÐÔÊӽ紫ý by making personal attacks towards the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý Police Service online.
