In Loving Memory ~
Juanita found her Angel Wings on May 4th, 2023 peacefully in Nanaimo Hospital. Juanita was born in Faust, Alberta and eventually made her way to Prince Rupert where she met her soulmate, Johnny Brillon.
They made their lives together and settled in Port Edward where John Sr. worked for Nelson Brothers Fisheries and Juanita worked in the Net Loft, mending nets and occasionally helping out her husband John on his boat, the Massett Maid as the Cook and Deck hand.
Juanita had amazing talents and many hats, caring and raising 6 children along with helping out family members and friends, inviting them into the family home for a place to stay as long as they needed.
The Brillon house was a home full of life and fun times for all the neighborhood kids, learning to play board games, put together puzzles and Randy having band practices and all the kids playing kick the can under the only street light that shone ever so brightly into the living room.
John Sr. passed away at a young age of 48 leaving Juanita a young widow with their 6 children to finish raising which is not an easy task and not for the weak of heart. Juanita made a decision to move her Family to the lower mainland with the help of her sister-in-law Blanche MacDonald, in the better interest of her family and provided many opportunities for them.
Juanita later met Peter Neuman and they spent many years together. Although they parted ways they remained friends for life, she helped Pete raise his 2 children Peter Jr. & Shaylee, of which they affectionately called her Mimi.
Juanita lived in Deep Bay for many years, it was a place that she loved and found her peace there. She loved to comb the beaches and make beautiful pieces of art from her finds on the beach. It was always a great place to visit her there and enjoy the fresh air and the ocean.
For the past year she lived at Cokely Manor in Parksville. Juanita had a deep faith in the Lord and always kept her family in her prayers and knew the Lord answered them.
Juanita is predeceased by her husband John Sr., Son's; Darryl (Darry), and Randolph (Randy).
She is survived by her children: Son: Johnny Jr., Daughters: Denise, Benita, (husband Jerry) and Tracey, her only surviving sibling, her sister: Pauline along with many Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Nieces & Nephews. Her Family will miss their Matriarch, Until We Meet Again.
