WARKENTIN, John Walter

January 1, 1930 - March 4, 2005

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of a husband, father and grandfather.

He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Hilda and their 5 children John, Harry (Cathy), Dave (Tracey), Bert (Cari) and Elaine (Bob Keim) as well as 12 beautiful grandchildren. Also survived by 4 sisters, Mary, Elizabeth, Margaret and Susan and 2 brothers, George and Henry. John became a Christian in his late teens and was baptized at aged 20 in Whitewater Church. He belonged to three Mennonite Churches in his 75 years: Whitewater Church in Manitoba, Cedar Hills in 性视界传媒 and Bethel Mennonite in Langley. John drove truck most of his life and will always be remembered for his rough and gravely voice and his big stature and most importantly, he was also big in heart. John always gave of himself and volunteered at various MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) locations over the last 30 years. In his retirement John also volunteered to drive cancer patients to the 性视界传媒, Vancouver and Bellingham Clinics. It is with sadness that it was this disease that shortened his stay here. John passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Menno Hospital with loving family at his side.

Memorial Service to be held at Bethel Mennonite Church, 24687 - 56th Avenue, Langley on Thursday March 10, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Pastor Phil Wheaton officiating. Should you desire, in lieu of flowers, donations to the MCC would be greatly appreciated.
