TAKE NOTICE THAT Precision Heat Treat Ltd. of 9531 194A Street, 性视界传媒, BC V4N 4G4 applies to the Metro Vancouver Regional District (鈥淢etro Vancouver鈥�) pursuant to the Greater Vancouver Regional District Air Quality Management Bylaw 1082, 2008 for a Permit.
1. The purpose of this application is to request authorization to discharge air contaminants from a steel heat treating facility located at 9531 194A Street, 性视界传媒, BC V4N 4G4.
Precision Heat Treat Ltd. requests authorization to discharge air contaminants from a steel heat treating facility where parts are loaded into the Integral Quench (IQ) furnaces to reach the maximum desirable hardness. Quenching oil is used to cool the metal parts after heat application. After removing from the IQ furnace and passing through the carburizing furnace, the parts are washed and introduced to the tempering furnace several time to achieve the desired product specification. In some stages, inert gases (N2) or reducing gases (e.g., ammonia during carburizing) are added to the furnace to remove surface contaminants/impurities and achieve specific surface characteristics.

2. The legal description of the land or premises where the plant, operation or source and treatment works are or will be located is LOT 98 SECTION 34 TOWNSHIP 8 NEW WESTMINSTER DISTRICT PLAN 63739 (PID 002-946-670).
3. A summary of the emission characteristics for the entire facility is as follows:
a. Combustion processes: Primary fuel 鈥� Natural Gas; Secondary fuel 鈥� N/A;
b. Maximum Opacity: 10 Percent;
c. Maximum total number of sources: 10
d. Maximum duration of discharge of air contaminants: 6500 hours/year
e. Authorization term requested: 20 years

This Notice is published pursuant to the Environmental Management Act, the Public Notification Regulation, and the Greater Vancouver Regional District Air Quality Management Bylaw 1082, 2008. A person who may be adversely affected by the granting or amending of the permit described in this notice may, within 30 days of its publication, notify Metro Vancouver鈥檚 District Director in writing stating how that person is affected. When making a decision on the permit or approval application, the District Director will consider the application, comments submitted and any responses provided by the applicant.
As per the Environmental Protection Notice, available on our website here, information collected during the comment period and the time following until a decision on the permit application has been made is collected by Metro Vancouver in accordance to s.26(c) of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The information collected will be used for the purpose of making a decision on the permit or approval application and will be forwarded to the permit applicant for response to the District Director.
