Police in 性视界传媒 now say a woman has been stabbed, not shot after reports of a shooting in Whalley Thursday morning.

In a release sent Thursday morning (Jan. 6), 性视界传媒 RCMP said a woman was found 鈥渟uffering from apparent gunshot wounds鈥� and that her injuries were serious.

Later in the day, however, 性视界传媒 RCMP sent another release saying, 鈥渇urther investigation into the report of a shooting in the 10400-block of 140B Street has revealed that the woman was stabbed, not shot.鈥�

But police say it does seem that shots were fired.

鈥淎lthough the victim was not shot, there is evidence that a shooting did occur at the location,鈥� according 性视界传媒 RCMP Cpl. Vanessa Munn.

The woman remains in hospital in stable condition.

Munn said investigators still believe the incident is 鈥渋solated,鈥� and there is 鈥渘o active threat to public safety.鈥�

It was just before 9 a.m., police responded to a report of 鈥済un shots heard inside a residence,鈥� according to Munn.

Munn said when officers arrived they found a 鈥渧ehicle leaving the area with a female victim.鈥� She was taken to hospital.

She added officers found the home where the shooting was believed to have happened and multiple people were detained.
