Police were on the scene of a large rural property in Langley's Brookswood neighbourhood, in the 19700 block of 28 Ave. for several days.
They first arrived late Tuesday afternoon, with multiple officers that reportedly included members of the elite Emergency Response team (ERT).
Officers were still on scene Wednesday morning, when Langley RCMP described it as an "on-going investigation" and indicated more information would be forthcoming later in the day.

One witness, who asked not to be named, heard several bangs coming from the property around 4:22 p.m.
"Not like a gunshot, more of a metallic explosion which I assumed was a flash-bang [stun grenade]," the witness told the Langley Advance Times.
"It was followed by the whoop of a police siren, not the 'woo-eee-woo' when they drive, the singular whoop they sometimes do to announce their arrival. Over the next five minutes, there were perhaps four bangs and several whoops. I did not hear any yelling. Several police cars drove by towards that address with lights on [but no sirens]."
Within ten minutes, the witness said, traffic down 28th was halted and pedestrians had to either take a different route or be escorted by police past the scene.
The traffic jam was cleared within an hour.
"The property commonly has a fair amount of traffic at it, at unusual hours," the witness said.
What appeared to be a police-operated drone was seen circling overhead.
Thursday, officers were still at the scene, and at least three tow trucks could be seen removing vehicles from the property.
