After six week of maintenance work, King George SkyTrain Station will reopen on Sunday, June 9.

TransLink says a full station closure for six weeks was required "to complete important upgrades as efficiently and safely as possible."

Work included removing parts of the rail to replace two turnouts, which are mechanical devices that guide trains from one track to another. The replaced section of track had been in use since the station first opened 30 years ago, TransLink says.

During the six-week closure at the ÐÔÊӽ紫ý station, other upgrades included power rail work, cable installations, elevator and escalator repairs, electrical and lighting fixes and cleaning.
