An inmate at Mission Institution died on Monday (June 24).
According to a news release from Correctional Service Canada (CSC), the inmate was serving an 11-year sentence that began in 2022 for "sexually-related" offences and assault with a weapon.
The person's name has been anonymized to comply with a court-ordered publication ban to protect the identity of the victims. The inmate鈥檚 next of kin have been notified.
The CSC will review the circumstances of the death and notify both police and the coroner.
