Firefighters responded to a reported house fire in North Delta Thursday afternoon (Aug. 8).
Crews responded to the fire in the 11700-block of Fern Way near Delview Park at around 5:30 p.m.
A freelance photographer on the scene reports the fire involved an electrical line going into the two-storey home, and video of the incident shows flames shooting out of several openings.
As well, sparks, bright flashes of light and loud crackling sounds could be seen and heard coming from the hole where the electrical line enters the house.
Firefighters kept the blaze at bay, protecting the home and a neighbouring property while they waited for BC Hydro to arrive and cut the power.
Reportedly no one was injured in the fire.
