Bob Bose said rumours of his political demise have been greatly exaggerated.
It鈥檚 long been thought, and recently published, that the veteran 性视界传媒 councillor will not run in this November鈥檚 civic election.
It鈥檚 patently wrong, says Bose.
鈥淚t鈥檚 absolutely untrue, I鈥檝e made my commitment to the 性视界传媒 Civic Coalition (SCC) and I鈥檒l be seeking their support,鈥 Bose said.
Their support is a given, as the party recently voted to allow incumbents and uncontested nomination.
Bose confesses that acting as sole opposition on council takes a toll.
鈥淚t鈥檚 very exhausting, because there鈥檚 no let up,鈥 Bose said. 鈥淭here鈥檚 nobody to tag-team with you.鈥
Nonetheless, he鈥檒l keep at it because he sees there鈥檚 still work to do.
鈥淚t鈥檚 still a challenge for me, and as long as it鈥檚 a challenge, I can keep going,鈥 Bose said.
His party, the left-leaning SCC, took a hit last week when two members of the party quit to join a new coalition on the board of education called 性视界传媒 First Education.
Bose said the party still has tremendous interest and good candidates in the running for next month鈥檚 nomination.
鈥溞允咏绱 Civic Coalition is going to do just fine I think,鈥 Bose said.
A healthy democratic system needs an effective opposition to ensure matters are properly debated, he said. It鈥檚 a concept he believes the public understands, and points out there may be some 鈥渟urprises鈥 in the November election.
