鈥淚鈥檝e always had a passion for cooking,鈥� Hussett says. Paired with the opportunity to surround himself with family, friends and the local community, it鈥檚 the perfect combination.
Growing up in Jamaica, with a single dad and six older sisters, cooking with fresh island ingredients was a life lesson learned early 鈥� and one that stuck with him when the family moved to Canada.
Opening the caf茅 in 2011 fulfilled Hussett鈥檚 dream to create a family-friendly destination that feels like home 鈥� even more so now that his sister has joined him as a chef at the restaurant.
Working closely with local school, community and church groups, 鈥渨e鈥檙e trying to create a real family place,鈥� he adds.

鈥淭he oxtail and the jerk are by far our most popular dishes, along with traditional sides like Jamaican patties,鈥� he says.
