鈥淎fter 20 years in the same location, we鈥檙e really an integral part of the community. We鈥檝e seen kids graduate, get married and have kids of their own and we鈥檝e been there through it all. We are truly grateful to be part of their lives. It鈥檚 an honour,鈥� reflects owner Tracy Bell, past president of the Canadian Professional Floral Designers鈥� Association.
To commemorate its two-decade milestone, Bell and her staff welcome the community for a special celebration Saturday, June 17. Stop by for beverages, sweet treats, give-aways and bouquets by donation, with all proceeds going to Relay for Life.
The store鈥檚 longevity and its position in the community is a testament to Bell and her designers鈥� commitment to quality flowers, designs and customer service.
鈥淲hen people call us they know it will be done perfectly,鈥� Bell says. 鈥淥ne big difference is the passion we have. This is a career we absolutely love and I know our customers feel that. I still get excited when a new flower variety is introduced. We all do!鈥�
Even during more somber times, flowers bring a natural element that helps soften the sadness of the event. And for those living away from friends and family, 鈥渋t really is the only thing they can send, other than a card, to show they care.鈥�
Part of an international wire service, La Belle Fleur sends flowers all over the world and at the same time, receives orders from Argentina to Australia.
鈥淲e use only the best-quality flowers and we do a lot behind the scenes to ensure they last,鈥� notes Bell, also an educator at the community level and among her peers. Most of La Belle Fleur鈥檚 flowers are locally grown, and those that come from overseas are vetted for fair and sustainable practices.
鈥淲e are all designers and we approach our work from an artistic level.鈥�
