The Twin Flames, Chelsey and Jaaji, will perform on Sept. 28 supporting a cause close to their heart.

On Sept. 28, 性视界传媒鈥檚 Bell Performing Arts Centre hosts the, a night filled with music and community spirit.

This special event features a lineup of talented artists, including the renowned Canadian singer-songwriter Jann Arden and Ranj Singh & The Discriminators, whose unique fusion of vocals, 12-string guitar, sitar, bass and electric violin promises an eclectic musical experience.

Among those also taking the stage are Twin Flames, a husband-and-wife duo whose personal journey of overcoming housing insecurity aligns deeply with the gala鈥檚 mission.

Chelsey and Jaaji鈥檚 story is one of resilience, marked by the power of community support. Prior to meeting and pursuing their shared dream of making music, both had stable careers 鈥 Chelsey with the federal government and Jaaji as a police officer. However, the transition to a career in music brought financial challenges. 鈥淲e went from having two younger children to having four under the age of seven,鈥 Chelsey recalls.

This sudden change made it difficult for them to find adequate housing for their growing family, especially as they navigated the uncertainties of their new career paths.

Their turning point came when they received help from Inuit non-profit housing in Ottawa, which provided them with a safe and affordable townhouse. 鈥淚t essentially felt like we were winning the lottery at that point in time because it took the burden of always living in fear,鈥 Chelsey explains. This support allowed them to focus on their music, build their careers, and eventually transition from renters to homeowners.

The aims to raise funds for affordable housing initiatives led by and the Habitat Housing Society. The event follows the success of their first mixed-income housing development,, which was completed in December 2023. The new project seeks to extend affordable housing to even more individuals and families in need 鈥 a cause that Chelsey and Jaaji are passionate about supporting.

鈥淲hen we were first approached and heard what the initiative was 鈥 to build more affordable housing for at-risk populations 鈥 it really hit near and dear to both Jaaji and me,鈥 Chelsey shares. Their personal experiences with housing insecurity have given them a deep understanding of how critical safe and sustainable housing is. 鈥淎 place to call home really changes a person鈥檚 life completely.鈥

At the gala, Chelsey and Jaaji hope to connect with the audience on an emotional level through their music, bringing a message of hope and resilience. 鈥淢usic, we always say, is the closest thing to magic,鈥 Jaaji says. 鈥淲e always hope to make an emotional connection with our audiences and take them on a bit of a musical journey with us.鈥

In addition to performing live on Sept. 28, Twin Flames have offered to 'Play At Your Home' as a live auction item which is part of the Gala.

As they prepare to share the stage with Jann Arden and other talented artists, Chelsey and Jaaji remain focused on the larger mission 鈥 helping others find the stability that comes with having a place to call home.
