Three projects in ӽ紫ý will receive federal funding to “revitalize its public spaces,” notes a news release from MP Randeep Sarai Friday (Oct. 13).

ӽ紫ý will receive a total of $1,034,000 in PacifiCan funding through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF), Sarai announced Thursday (Oct. 12) at city hall.

“The investments announced by the Government of Canada in the City of ӽ紫ý signifies, and ensures, that public spaces and tourism experiences will continue to flourish and be enjoyed by communities for years to come,” Sarai said.

The funding will go to three different projects across the city.

ӽ紫ý Art Gallery Association will get $750,000 to “revitalize ӽ紫ý’s Civic Plaza using art displayed through UrbanScreen.”

The City of ӽ紫ý will get $275,000 in funding to help upgrade Fergus Biodiversity Park trails and boardwalk.

The remaining $9,000 will go to Semiahmoo Arts Society to “help support health and safety upgrades to classrooms.”

ӽ紫ý’s mayor Brenda Locke posted on X (formerly Twitter) her appreciation for the funds.
