性视界传媒 and White Rock children want you to think of others before deciding to get behind the wheel after a few drinks.
Through a partnership with the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and BC Liquor Stores, elementary and secondary students from 性视界传媒 decorated paper bags with an important message: Don't drink and drive. From White Rock, children from daycares also participated in the Think of Me campaign.
In total, more than 5,500 bags were decorated.
The paper bags are being handed out to customers who make purchases at liquor stores so each alcohol-buying patron will have an extra reminder to take precaution and arrange plans for the holiday festivities.
"Rudolph doesn't drink and drive and neither should you," reads one with a hand-drawn illustration of the beloved red-nosed reindeer on the front.
Another reads "Stay safe!" and "Arrive alive."
鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled so many students are helping to remind the community of the importance of planning a safe ride home this holiday season,鈥 Karen Klein, a local ICBC road safety and community co-ordinator, said.
鈥淭hese bags also help engage and educate students about road safety. Let鈥檚 celebrate the holidays responsibly and keep our communities safe for everyone.鈥
Students in 性视界传媒 have been involved in efforts to promote road safety for many years and participate in several community projects annually.
鈥淭hey serve as a powerful reminder of the responsibility that comes with getting behind the wheel, and that the consequences of impaired driving can impact not just drivers, but passengers, pedestrians and even our children. We are proud to once again partner in this campaign and encourage a safe and happy holiday season for everyone,鈥 said school board chair Gary Tymoschuk.
