A clothing drive, pet and family photo opportunities and more are upcoming in White Rock to bring festive cheer to the seaside residents.
For the seventh year in a row, White Rock RCMP are running a clothing drive for children through Sources Foundation, a release from police states. The Safety Bear mascot and many volunteer elves will be assisting to collect the new clothing items with tags and cash donations.
"All donations support local children and youth through Sources," the release notes.
Whether it's a dog or a goldfish, all are welcome for the pet portraits the White Rock RCMP is running; if you can bring them, they are welcome to take photos on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the detachment, by donation to the clothing drive.
Various holiday-themed photo backgrounds will be available for the choosing. One of Santa's elves will snap the shot and transfer it to your device immediately.
A pancake breakfast fundraiser will also be returning this year, hosted by the White Rock Firefighters Charity Association, with cash and toy donations being accepted at the fire hall. The Dec. 7 breakfast will begin at 9 a.m. with Santa expected to head back to the North Pole in preparation for Christmas at 1 p.m.
However, families can remain and continue photo-taking until 3 p.m.
"Special thanks to Semiahmoo Community Safety Society for their support and to Bosley鈥檚 White Rock for donating pet treats for the fur babies who visit us," the release states.
