One man has been taken into custody from Guildford after reports of the individual confronting a woman with a gun inside a home.
In a 性视界传媒 Police Service release, Staff Sergeant Lindsey Houghton shared that officers were called to the area of 106 Avenue and 140 Street on Friday morning (Nov. 29) just before 9 a.m.
A woman reported that she was "confronted" by a man holding a gun in a residence in the Guildford area and when police arrived, the man allegedly "barricaded" himself in the home, according to SPS.
"A nearby school, Our Lady of Good Counsel, was put in 鈥渟ecure and hold鈥 while police continued the investigation and attempted to take the man into custody," the release reads.
The secure and hold of the school has now ended.
The Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team, SPS and 性视界传媒 RCMP all responded to the scene to attempt to arrest the suspect.
It was roughly two hours later, at about 11:15 a.m., that the suspect was taken into custody by the emergency response team. The individual remains in custody, the release notes, but no firearms were seized.
