Liv Shen says she loves the freedom to create "latte art" for the holidays at a new caf茅 and bar in 性视界传媒.
Shen manages , opened this year on the ground floor of Century Group's rental-home building, across from King George SkyTrain Station and multicoloured Coast Capital Savings HQ.
On Shen is featured in biweekly "Lattes with Liv" posts that showcase art crafted with cups of coffee and foamed milk.
"We did some special drinks for Halloween, and right now it's all about Christmas drinks and the latte art," Shen explained. "People like to have that, to see that little tree or some kind of art in the foamed milk. It's fun, I'm really into creating all kinds of things."
Originally from Toronto, Shen demonstrated her latte art for the Now-Leader last week, creating a foamy Christmas tree in just over four minutes, start to finish.
"I do art on the lattes," she noted, "and also specialty drinks like Strawberry matcha (green tea), which has been popular, with house-made strawberry puree and milk and then matcha cream on top."
Combine opens as a caf茅 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., then pivots to dinner service from 4 until 10 (midnight on Friday/Saturday). Happy hours are 4 to 6 p.m., then 9 until close. (breakfast, gourmet charcuterie boards, soups, sandwiches, croissants and more) emphasize local ingredients from a farm in Delta.
Century Group also operates , at 性视界传媒 Civic Plaza opposite 性视界传媒 City Hall.
