People filled White Rock's iconic pier for a long-table dinner Thursday evening (Aug. 8).

Event organizers say a record-setting $356,000 was raised at the annual Picnic on the Pier, launched in 2016 by .

This year's event featured Mediterranean-inspired cuisine catered by Joseph Richard Group's Blank Canvas Catering.

Close to 450 tickets were sold for $225 each on . Raffle and 50/50 draws also raised money for the hospital foundation's efforts to improve health care in White Rock.

Picnic on the Pier, presented by Landmark Premiere Properties and Foster Martin, promised an "ultimate alfresco cocktail party featuring live music, a fabulous menu, refreshing libations, and a gorgeous view of the Pacific."

Last August, close to 500 people enjoyed the 2023 Picnic on the Pier, which raised $140,500 for the hospital foundation, bringing the seven-year grand total to nearly $440,500.
