PHOTOS: Halal food fest brought 72,000 to 性视界传媒 park, organizers boast

3rd annual event held at Holland Park, 4th planned in 2025

The 2024 version of BC Halal Food Fest in 性视界传媒 was "bigger than ever," according to organizers of the annual event, held at Holland Park on the weekend of June 22-23.

Admission was free at the two-day festival, the third held in 性视界传媒 since launching in 2022.

"This year's festival was a spectacular celebration of cultural diversity, culinary excellence and community unity, drawing an impressive crowd of over 72,000 attendees," event planners say in a e-newsletter.

"The intersections of different groups together in this space was beautiful to witness and watch solidarity and awareness grow among our communities."

The festival involved 40-plus food vendors, 30 market vendors, entertainment, Shooting Star amusement rides and more. 

Karavan Meats, maker of Korean BBQ and Philly Cheese Steaks, won the Best Food/Drink Vendor this year.

Performers included dance group Canadabke, music group Ayub Salahuddin and Shifayat Ali, Cultural Daf and also Ilyas Mao and Ali Soulful.

Organizers say the event, advertised as Western Canada's largest halal food festival, will return to 性视界传媒 next summer. Vendor and sponsor applications for the 2025 event are done on .

The festival was expected to draw attendees from across Metro Vancouver, the U.S. and Alberta, with halal food from around the world in celebration of , or the Feast of Sacrifice, second of two main holidays celebrated in Islam.  dictate whether food is 鈥渉alal,鈥 or permissible.
